Mike Persson

Registered patent attorney and strong community supporter

Mike started his career as a mechanical engineer and later studied intellectual property law and litigation. He’s been practicing since 1996 as a registered patent attorney. His clients are located nationwide and even as far away as Japan.

While in law school, Mike was the Student Director of the NH Inventors’ Assistance Program. It was during that time that he built relationships with many area inventors and formed the NH Inventors’ Association.

Mike holds the degrees of Juris Doctor and Master of Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center and taught Patent Practice and Procedure there for many years.

Giving back to the community

Mike strongly believes in giving back to the community. He has a history of active commitment to many local organizations including:

  • Treasurer & Chair of the Loan Review Committee of the Belknap County Economic Development Council
  • Former President and current Executive Board Member of the Lakes Region Rotary Club
  • Advisory Board member and Bell Ringing Campaign Coordinator for the Salvation Army
  • Board member and Fall Festival Coordinator for Volunteers in Pleasant Street School
  • Coordinator of the PSS Gunstock Ski Program
  • Treasurer of the Belknap County Bar Association

Family and fun

Mike has been married to his wife, Clare, for 16 years. They have two daughters Alana and Kate. Mike’s a Certified Spinning instructor and teaches classes at the Laconia Athletic and Swim Club. And that’s not all... Mike’s also an accomplished writer and writes a monthly column for the Weirs Times. In his free time Mike enjoys fly fishing, golf, woodworking and triathlon training and racing.
