Lawson Appointed to Stratetic Planning Steering Committee

Ed Lawson, a Director of the Laconia law firm of Lawson & Persson, P.C., has been appointed to the Shaker Regional School District’s 2013-2018 Strategic Planning Steering Committee. The committee is responsible for developing the school district’s next five-year strategic plan for improving the school district’s quality of education. The plan will provide an overall blueprint for the specific goals the school district will pursue for the next five years to improve the educational opportunities for the school district’s 1400 students in the communities of Belmont and Canterbury
Ed Lawson’s interest in education is longstanding personally and professionally. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he taught in public schools. His practice has included the representation of New Hampshire school districts over the past twenty years as well as active participation in the New Hampshire Council of School Attorneys. Personally Ed continues to enjoy teaching and teaches classes at the University of New Hampshire on issues concerning the impact of computer technology and intellectual property law upon educational programs.



Elizabeth Dial issued U.S. Patent 7,510,301

Lawson & Persson is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Dial of San Diego, California, was issued United States Patent Number 7,510,301 on March 31, 2009 for her security lock system and kit.  Ms. Dial’s security lock system is adapted for securing garments and other personal belongings from opportunistic theft.  The lock fits into a small pouch that is easily carried and her kit inlcudes the security lock and pouch.  Ms. Dial’s patent also extends to garments and other apparel, such as luggage, that include the lock and a carrying pouch.



Michael Persson speaks to Laconia Historical Society

Attorney Michael Persson of Lawson & Persson gave a presentation to the Laconia Historical Society on April 20th titled “A History of Innovation in the Lakes Region” .  Mike’s presentation included a statistical analysis of patents issued to residents of the Lakes Region since 1875 highlighted a number of local inventors including Benjamin Jewett, William Esty, Ralph Lovejoy, the inventors of Scott & Williams, and others.  Copies of the slides from Mike’s PowerPoint presentation are available upon request.
